Corisca Vineyard / Bottles
Bodegas Corisca
Natalia Rodríguez returned to her family’s vineyards in Condado do Tea after working as a lawyer in Vigo and decided to farm Albariño organically…in one of the most humid wine regions in Europe. Sensible people might have chosen an easier path. Instead, Corisca became the first certified organic Albariño producers in Rías Baixas.
Her vineyards sit near the Miño River, close to Portugal, where Condado do Tea is a little warmer and drier than the coast. Granite, river stones, forest, humidity and Atlantic air all find their way into the wines. Farming is hands on and low intervention, with no herbicides or synthetic chemicals.
The wines are pure and quietly expressive: 100% Albariño, native yeast, stainless steel, lees work to develop texture, and very little standing between the vineyard and the bottle. There is generosity here, but also freshness, salinity and that unmistakable Galician purity.
Corisca feels like exactly the kind of winery La Luz was built for: small, independent, deeply rooted in place, and made by someone doing things the hard way because she believes it matters.
